Top 11 Bands That Changed Music

Ok, so I think I'm gonna start doing lists. Of course, my first list has to be the obvious list of bands which changed rock history. This is mainly mainstream music, because it tends to have more of an influence on the direction of music. I'm talking about from the fifties to now, so don'tbe mad at me for not putting Mozart. So, without further ado...
11) The White Stripes: Jack White is bringing rock back to when it used to be about the music, and not the money. And the fact that they're mainstream helps to show everyone, not just highly enthused music listeners (such as myself), that music means passion, not just choreographing and brands.
Track to Try: 'Ball and Biscuit' or 'In My Pocket'
10) Talking Heads: Exploded into new wave and helped to create alternative rock as it is today. David Byrne knew what he was talking about and how to get the message through in his own cool/nerdy way.
Track to Try: 'This Must Be the Place'
9) Nirvana: Brought a new sense of meaning to music. Kurt Kobain and the others decided that music should be about more than love and moping around. Brought a definitive musical raunch to modern hard-rock and punk.
Track to Try: the obvious 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' or my personal Nirvana favourite 'Polly'
8) The Red Hot Chili Peppers: Brought poetry to music and mixed punk with funk to great success. Though their music has changed incredly at least twice, they have always been amazing and extremely poetic.
Track to Try: To get the whole feeling you need one from each generation. So start with 'True Men Don't Kill Coyotes', skip ahead to 'Funky Monks', and then listen to either 'Californication', or 'Snow (Hey Oh)'.
7) The Arcade Fire: Brought alternative music to the frontline and made it much easier for independent bands to get big. Also brought perfectionism to the sound of rock, as all of the corralation in the band is spot on, even live.

6) The Beastie Boys/Run DMC: Basicallybrought rap into the mainstream. Even though it had been in the underground for years, these bands introduced thousands of people to the new genre.
Tracks to Try: The Beastie Boys; 'Fight for Your Right' or 'Sabotage'; Run DMc; their version of 'Walk This Way' which they actually played with Aerosmith.
5) The Clash: Along with The Sex Pistols and The Ramones, invented punk in the seventies. Bringing a new connection betweenn the band and the fans (even letting fans sleep in their hotel rooms), this band made the music mean something.

4) The Jimi Hendrix Experience: A very obvious choice, but a justified one. Any guitarist will admit to being at least somewhat influenced by Jimi Hendrix. He basically invented what we see now as the guitar solo. And he created a bond between a musician in his his instrument, even if he showed it by guitar sacrifice.
Track to Try: Anything really, but if you need guidance, check out 'Purple Haze'.
3) Bob Dylan/Neil Young: Brought politics into their music and made music a part of revolutions.

2) The Beatles/The Rolling Stones: These bands changed rock from the merely dancy doowop of the fifties to the raunchier, more experimental music of the sixties. And you kind of have to include the two most famous rock bands into any list.
Tracks to Try: The Beatles; 'Rocky Racoon' The Rolling Stones; 'Paint it Black
1) Chuck Berry/Little Richard: Helped to invent rock and roll, and brought it into the big picture. Forever changed youth into a significant group of people. Without them we wouldn't even have the rest of the bands on this list.
