Kick Ass Movie Review #2: Man On Fire

Ok, time for another movie review, this time for Man On Fire (7/10). It's a revenge thriller starring Denzel Washington as a tough as hell bodyguard who grows a father-daughter relationship with the the rich little girl who he's protecting (Dakota Fanning, for the trillionth time) who then gets kidnapped (and eventually murdered) leading Denzel to quote: "anyone who benifitted from it, anyone who had any part in it, anyone who even looks at me, I'm gonna kill the bastards." The movie proceeds with disturbing torture scenes that almost rival Marv's story in Sin City for squeamishness, including the classic explosive shoved up the rectum. The movie is more interesting than thrilling, and when I say interesting I mean it in a good way. But if you want to see an amazing/actionpacked revenge flick, you're probably better off with Kill Bill. But this movie is worth watching for good acting and interesting story (there are also neat facts, apparently on average in Mexico City there are 60 kidnappings per day). So ya, see this movie when you don't need anything too intelligent but want something good and violent.
